"All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, He brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us."
-2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (The Message)
While redemption and restoration can only be accomplished through the atoning work of Christ, the work of caring for souls in our communities is accomplished through the Holy Spirit's gifting and directing believers in relationships with one another. Stonebriar Community Church's SoulCare ministry mission is simple: It is a ministry that prayerfully connects "people who want to help...with people who need help."
The methods we use to "care" are varied. They range from helping to meet physical and financial needs, to being "present" with others in walking alongside them as they wrestle with their emotional and spiritual needs. Our SoulCare ministers believe that the Holy Spirit is the author of all change, growth, and the primary instrument of healing in all souls.
SoulCare ministers believe that our greatest resource of "care" is faithful, fervent, and frequent prayer.
SoulCare Fall Training
SoulCare Training will be conducted during a 10-week series starting Sunday, September 17 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in portable D. This training will provide you with tools and resources to help you walk alongside someone in a season of brokenness and to serve in may capacities at Stonebriar Community Church.
It is important for you to attend all 10 sessions!
SoulCare is praying, encouraging, attending, caring, and educating. Remember, we may spend a season of praying, encouraging, and attending before we ever get into a season of active caring and educating. We trust this to the Holy Spirit.
