Pathway Classes

Parenting Pathway is brought to you by the Family Ministry at Stonebriar Community Church. We are a group of imperfect men and women who happen to love and serve a perfect Jesus. We walk alongside families day in/day out and have found most parents just want answers. The reality is that none of us have all the answers, but we know the One who does. It is our collective goal to equip and encourage you to seek Him in ALL things on this incredible adventure called parenting.

We believe that there are spiritual and physical milestone that all our children will pass.  Its at these milestones that we encourage you to look to the parenting community around you and your family.  This community should be able to provide encouragement, insight and support along your journey.

Parenting Pathway classes are offered on an ongoing basis throughout the year and on a 2 year cycle.

Ongoing Classes:

  • Expecting Parent
  • Child Dedication
  • Elementary New Believer
  • Baptism Orientation

Year 1 Classes:

  • Preparing Your Child for Faith
  • Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten
  • Preparing Your Child for Adolescence

Year 2 Classes:

  • Preparing for the Teen Years
  • Dating and Biblical Sexuality
  • Navigating the World of Technology Well
  • Guiding with Rites and Passages

If you are interested in one of these classes and they are not currently scheduled, you can find recordings of previous sessions on our parenting blog: ParentingPathway.org/Moremedia

Child Dedication

The next Child Dedication Ceremonies are on Sundays, February 11 and May 13, 2018.

A mandatory parent meeting for this event will be held on Sunday, January 28 or April 29 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Child Dedication is a one-time event, but raising godly kids takes a lifetime. That is why we have designed a class to help parents raise kids to love Jesus and follow him with enthusiasm; it is the most important and rewarding thing a parent will do. More information is available HERE.

New Believer Class | Starts Sunday, January 28

This class is designed for kindergarten through second-grade children who have recently trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior. Parents must attend this class with their children, so we can partner with parents to teach the fundamentals of faith—what it means to know God, to love God, and to serve God. We also teach that Christian living is something children can practice, even at their young age.

Dating and Biblical Sexuality
Simply telling our children not to do something does not always work.

You often need to combine knowledge and biblical wisdom as you guide your children toward making good decisions. Instead of telling our kids to just say no to sex, we need to explain why sex is a precious gift from God, inspire them to value it more than our culture does, and equip them with all the reasons they should wait until marriage. Join us as we teach you how you can craft your approach to the often emotionally-explosive topic of dating and sexuality, so that your kids will want to hold out for God’s best plan for them.
