07 Dec Women’s Bible Studies: Spring 2019
We offer Bible studies to fit every schedule and style. Browse our weekly groups below to find your place to belong, grow in your faith, and develop friendships with fellow women. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Precept Upon Precept: The Gospel of John
Chapters 12–21 of the Gospel of John contain some of the most enlightened teaching in the Word about the intimacy of God’s children with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. For a fuller understanding of what Jesus meant when He said that “He had come that we might have life and have it more abundantly”, study John with us and find the abundance of life to which Jesus is referring. Jesus draws His disciples aside to prepare them for what is to come. Together, we will learn about His death, burial, and resurrection, and their significance to our salvation.
There is no need to register in advance—simply check in at your first session. If you attended in the fall, you are already enrolled for the spring study. There is no childcare for this Bible study. Join us on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to noon in B200–B201 (beginning January 15).
Women of Grace
Our Women of Grace small group will be studying The Me I Want to Be by John Ortberg. Come and discover how you can become the unique, fully alive person God intended you to be. Designed to provide support and encouragement to women, this book study offers an active time of discussion and fellowship. We learn to share God’s grace by building relationships with one another as we apply the truth of the Bible to the life issues we face. There is no time like the present to enter into a deeper relationship with Christ.
There is no need to sign up—simply join us on Tuesday nights at 7 in room B231 (beginning January 15). The room is upstairs to the left of the elevator in Building B, behind the set of glass doors. We do not have copies of the book for everyone, so please plan to purchase and bring your own copy.
A Journey Through James
You are invited to join us on a journey through the book of James. Through discussion and lecture, we will explore the call to genuine Christian living that James gives all believers. In a world where it is so easy to keep one foot in secular culture and one in the church, James gives us hope that we can live out our faith in sincerity, and he gives us practical ways to keep ourselves unstained from the pollution of the world we live in.
Taught by Vanessa van Dyck, classes meet on Tuesdays starting on January 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the choir room in building B. Bring your Bible and a notebook. There is no need to register in advance—simply sign up at your first session.
Foundations: Grounded on God’s Promises
No matter what season of life you are in or what you are going through, God’s Word has promises for you! You are never alone, forgotten, or without hope when you rest on the promises He has given.
Ladies, join us as we dive deeper into God’s Word together. This Bible study is offered on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 and evenings at 6:30 (beginning January 16). Walk-in registration will be available each Wednesday. For more information, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 469-252-5302.
Precept Upon Precept: Sermon on the Mount
Early in His ministry, Jesus passed through the region of Galilee, teaching in synagogues, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom,” and healing every kind of sickness. As news of these miracles spread, a huge crowd began to follow Him. At a strategic point, Jesus led the crowd to a mountain overlooking the Sea of Galilee to teach them what has become known as the Sermon on the Mount. In this study, we will look at what Jesus said and examine why it was so important to such a vast audience and to us today.
Join us on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in B244 (beginning January 17). There is no childcare for this Bible study. There is no need to register in advance—simply sign up at your first session.
