Women’s Bible Studies & Small Groups: Spring 2020

We offer Bible studies to fit every schedule and style of learning. Please prayerfully consider which selection the Lord is prompting you to explore. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Tuesdays

Precept—Hebrews Part 2: Jesus, Our High Priest Forever & Hebrews Part 3: Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of Our Faith
Beginning Tuesday, January 14 | 9:30 a.m.

Part 2: Have you ever wondered how the New Testament connects to the Old? This fascinating study of Hebrews 5–10 explains relationships between the two covenants, the earthly and heavenly tabernacles, and the sacrifices of animals and the Son of Man. See how Jesus fulfilled the Law and the Prophets and became our great High Priest.

Part 3: Without faith, it is impossible to please God. So what is faith? Where do I get it? And what does it look like lived out in my life? This study of Hebrews 11–13 will answer these questions and more, encouraging you to fix your eyes on Jesus and run with endurance to the finish line.

Mom2Mom

The purpose of Mom2Mom is to grow in becoming godly, Spirit-filled women who are mothers called to a specific purpose by God. We equip moms with the biblical tools they need to grow in their relationship with the Lord while building strong marriages, families, and new relationships with others through mentoring, Bible study, and inspirational speakers.

Moms with newborns to middle-school-age children are invited to come and enjoy refreshment, encouragement, and instruction every Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. beginning January 14 through April 28.

A refreshing gathering, Mom2Mom encourages development of friendships in a relaxed setting with food, discussion time, Bible study, and messages from a variety of gifted speakers. Our program rotates Bible study one week and general-interest speakers and fellowship on alternate weeks. Childcare is provided by registration only. The Mom2Mom year will conclude with our special Spring Celebration on April 28.

Please Note: Registration for Mom2Mom and registration for childcare during Mom2Mom are separate. Limited spots for childcare are available.

Women of Grace
Beginning Tuesday, January 7 | 7 p.m.

We will be reading Unshakable Hope by Max Lucado. What are you anchored to—the circumstances of life or the promises of God? For every problem in life, God has given you a promise. In Unshakable Hope, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado takes a closer look at Scripture’s unbreakable promises and shows you how to live with an unshakable hope. Unshakable Hope examines twelve of God’s promises that Max has turned to over the years to encourage himself and others. Each chapter explores one significant promise and reveals how it will equip you to overcome challenging circumstances, experience lasting security, and make wise decisions. There is no need to sign up for this group, but if you have any questions, please e-mail womenofgrace@stonebriar.org.

Wednesday mornings

Isaiah: Past, Present, and Future, Part Two
Beginning Wednesday, January 8 | 9:30 a.m.

Although it was written thousands of years ago, the book of Isaiah is just as relevant in our current day. Its prophecies give us hope in our Redeemer and the blessed future we have to look forward to because of Him. Join us this fall as we begin our journey through Isaiah! Walk-in registration is available each Wednesday in the upstairs B lobby.

Wednesday Evenings

Defending Your Faith in a Post-Christian Culture
Beginning Wednesday, January 8 |  6:30 p.m.

Today, more than ever, people are challenging Christianity by asking penetrating questions that often catch believers off-guard. We see friends and family members abandon the faith because their doubts go unanswered. They want to know how a good God can allow suffering, for example, or how the Bible can be trusted in an age of science. This class equips believers to respond to the toughest questions facing us in today’s culture, and to do it with gentleness and respect. Join us as we learn how to defend our faith in love. Childcare is available through registration.

Precept—Ephesians: The Church—Rooted in Love, Walking in Power
Beginning Wednesday, January 8 |  6 p.m.

With themes like being chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world, targeted by grace, sons of God united in a single family, inheritors, holy, redeemed, forgiven, raised from the dead and seated with Jesus Christ in the heavenlies, how can you not study Ephesians!? Before Paul even hints at how believers should live, he lays a rock-solid foundation: our identity in Christ! If you think you’re just a cog in a machine, if you don’t know your true identity, then this study is for you. Praise God for what He planned in eternity past and is waiting to reveal to you now . . . through the study of His Word. Learn who and what you are in Christ and you’ll want to walk God’s ways the rest of your life!

Thursdays

Precept—Numbers: Trusting God in the Wilderness
Beginning Thursday, January 9 | 9:30 a.m.

When the Israelites cried out to God, He raised up Moses to bring them out of slavery and into the Promised Land. But the people rebelled and suffered the terrible consequence of wandering in a wilderness. Are you following the Lord to the place He wants you to be?

Crafters for Christ
10 a.m.

As women who love Christ, we share our talents with needlework and various crafts to bless and encourage those in need—and we have a great time being creative together. We meet in room B151 and would love for you to join us!
