Join us on Sundays

Special Needs Programs Online & On Campus

If you are new to our ministry, welcome! We look forward to meeting you soon. Before your first visit, please email Darla Hill at DarlaH@Stonebriar.org to make arrangements. The information will help us plan a successful first visit for your child with special needs. We can also arrange a weekday tour of our classrooms prior to your first visit, and you can download our campus map for guidance on where to park and enter our buildings.

Visitors Always Welcome

Children and adults with special needs are welcome to participate in any of Stonebriar’s programs. In each ministry area, we strive to allow each student to participate as independently as possible. A “Buddy” (GIFT volunteer) may be able to help your child attend a typical class or activity.

We also have the following Sunday classrooms and fellowship groups designed for those with special needs.

Please note that our contained classrooms are for students who have a confirmed special needs diagnosis with an intellectual disability. Stonebriar is blessed to have leaders and volunteers in our typical classrooms who are equipped to teach children with physical disabilities or other diagnoses, such as ADHD, allergies, and diabetes.

Children’s Suite

Ages 11 and younger in Room C101 at 10:45 a.m.

Kids in our Sunday programs learn Bible truths through stories, crafts, and worship. Our Special Needs Children’s Suite is divided into three rooms—one for play time, one for large-muscle movement, and the other for quiet retreats. Just down the hall, there is an outdoor playground designed for all abilities.

Tweener’s Suite

Ages 12-17 in Room B151 at 10:45 a.m.

Preteens and teens in our Sunday programs learn Bible truths through Scripture lessons, activities, and worship. Our Special Needs Tweener’s Suite is divided into three rooms—one for social interaction, one for learning, and another for quiet retreats. Teens often go outside to a gated area near the suite to play games or just enjoy some fresh air.

John 9:3

Ages 18+ in Room A104 at 10:45 a.m.

Adult students in this class learn Bible truths through Scripture lessons, prayer and praise time, and worship. During the first worship service on Sundays at 9 a.m., these adults are encouraged to serve throughout the church or attend worship with their families.

Special Needs Parent Fellowship

Parents and Adult Caregivers in Room B200-201 at 10:45 a.m.

This class offers Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and encouragement for parents or caregivers of those with disabilities. It’s a great opportunity to find support and build friendships with others who understand your unique experiences.
