Dr. Chuck Swindoll

Dr. Chuck Swindoll

Chuck Swindoll is the founding pastor of Stonebriar Community Church. His desire is to establish the church with a solid biblical foundation based on the faithful exposition of the Word of God. His vision includes the importance of corporate worship and an emphasis on small-group ministries that provide encouragement and accountability in the body. His missionary passion is to train men and women for ministry worldwide while meeting the spiritual needs of the local community.

 

Chuck currently also serves as Chancellor of Dallas Theological Seminary and is the Bible teacher of the worldwide radio ministry, “Insight for Living,” and has published numerous books dealing with all aspects of Christian life. He served as senior pastor of a Fullerton, California, church for 23 years prior to moving back to Texas.

Jim Byrd

Jim Byrd

Jim retired from The Reynolds and Reynolds Company after 33 years. His last position was Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of the Healthcare Systems Division.

 

He has a degree in Education and has completed the Executive Management Program from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Jim and his wife Shirley have 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Jim Goodyear

Jim Goodyear

Jim is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego. He went on to attend graduate school at the University of California, Santa Barbara with a focus on modern and early modern German history.

 

Jim currently works at LifeSize Communications as a Director of Sales in the high definition videoconferencing industry. Jim and his wife, Danette, are charter members of Stonebriar Community Church. Jim believes that SCC is unique in that it provides the benefits of a metropolitan church with the intimate feel of a neighborhood church experience. He and his wife are active in the Authentic Living Fellowship class. In his free time, Jim likes to golf, mountain bike, and play soccer.

Rhome van Dyck

Rhome van Dyck

Rhome is the founder and leader of Sacra Script Ministries, which produces innovative Bible studies and Bible resources. He and his wife Vanessa, along with their two daughters, make Stonebriar Community Church their home. He was ordained at Stonebriar in 2005 and served on the pastoral staff. He continues to teach at a variety of classes and fellowships.

 

Rhome has traveled extensively around the world, primarily training pastors in persecuted countries. He holds a Th.M. in historical theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.

David Hammock

David Hammock

Dave is the Chief Financial Officer at Global Media Outreach, an international ministry that utilizes the ubiquity of the internet to share the Gospel.  Before that, he served for 3 years as the Chief Operating Officer of a ministry focused on a persecuted people group in the Middle East.  Dave retired from an assistant vice president position at AT&T in 2011, where he had been employed for over 36 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and a Master’s Degree in Marketing.

 

Dave and his wife, Marsha, both Missouri natives, are charter members of Stonebriar Community Church.  The Hammocks have two grown sons and a daughter-in-law who also reside in the north Dallas area.

James (Jay) Madden

James (Jay) Madden

After a 20-year career in finance, Jay now owns and operates a fishing tackle company. Jay holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas A&M University. He is active in men’s ministry, where he is involved in discipling and teaching.

 

Jay and his wife, Kim, lead a home fellowship. They have lived in Texas for over 30 years and have attended Stonebriar since 2004, becoming members in 2006. They have three daughters who serve in Stonebriar’s children’s ministry.

Tommy Mello

Tommy Mello

A native of California, Tommy holds a bachelor of business administration from The University of Texas. He is a business owner in the Dallas area and serves on the finance committee at Stonebriar Community Church.

 

Tommy and his wife Stephanie were married in 1994 and are charter members of Stonebriar. They love mentoring newly married couples and those considering marriage. As such, they serve as leaders in the Marriage Foundations ministry and the Marriage Matters class at Stonebriar. The Mellos have three sons and live in Frisco.

Russell Patterson

Russell Patterson

Russell is Account Manager for Hewlett-Packard, where he has been employed for more than 16 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Texas, Austin and went on to study kinesiology in graduate school at the University of Texas.

 

Russell and his wife, Jayne, grew up in Plano and moved to Frisco in 1996. They both serve in the LifeBuilder Adult Fellowship class. The Pattersons have two daughters, Catherine and Victoria.

Wayne Stiles

Wayne Stiles

Wayne is husband to Cathy and father to their two adult daughters, Sarah and Kate. He serves as host of “Walking the Bible Lands,” an online video ministry that provides virtual tours of the Holy Land. He helped plant and pastor a church for 14 years before serving in leadership for 12 years at Insight for Living Ministries.

 

Wayne earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary, where he also serves as an adjunct professor. A veteran traveler to Israel, Wayne has taught and written extensively on the devotional benefits of the Holy Land on his blog and in his books. He serves as the Bible teacher for the Marathon Adult Fellowship class. He and Cathy have attended Stonebriar since 2004.

Charlton Hiott

Charlton Hiott

As Senior Associate Pastor, Charlton over sees all Pastoral Ministries at Stonebriar. He served on staff at Stonebriar as Pastor of Counseling Ministries, then as Pastor of Care Ministries from 1999 to 2007. In 2008, he assumed the role of Senior Associate Pastor. Additionally, Charlton leads Marriage Foundations, Stonebriar’s Premarital Ministry.

 

Charlton earned a master’s degree in biblical counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1999. Prior to attending seminary, he served as an Officer in the United States Army from 1986-1999. Charlton graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 1986. Charlton and Ginger have been married since 1987 and have two adult children.

Don McMinn

Don McMinn

Don McMinn oversees Stonebriar’s Worship and Music Ministries, which includes Sunday worship, adult choral and instrumental groups, children’s choirs, special concerts, sound and lighting, and the sermon-CD program.

 

A Dallas native, Don attended  University of Texas in Austin for his undergraduate degree and attained his doctoral degree from University of North Texas in Denton. In addition to his service to the church, Don has been involved in family counseling and leadership training as well as creating his own ministry. He and his wife, Mary, have two grown daughters.
