Early Childhood

providing biblical truth and loving care for little hearts

Our Purpose

In Early Childhood ministry, we teach basic biblical truths in ways little hearts can understand. Our desire is to have children learn in fun and interesting ways how much God loves them. We provide a safe and loving environment that allows parents to have peace of mind as they worship and learn what God desires for them and their family.

Your Next Step

We can’t wait to meet you! Here are some ideas for how to get connected with us.

Plan your visit

Nursery (birth through 18 months)

Babies grow so fast . . . and we’re ready to meet the needs each new stage of development brings. As babies mature, they are moved (about every two months) to a new room with toys and furnishings that most closely match their new abilities and needs. We strive to make your baby as comfortable as possible, and encourage you to keep updating us with detailed care instructions such as nap and feeding preferences.

Preschool (19 months through Pre-K)

Each week, these little learners a taught a new part of God’s Big Story in the Bible.  Bible lessons are taught using the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum which emphasizes hands on learning activities.  The children have the opportunity to go to age specific large group worship and storytime.  In order to get the wiggles out children have the opportunity to go out to one of three playgrounds or indoor play space as weather prohibits outdoors.

What to Bring

Please have your child’s personal belongings clearly marked with his/her full name.  Diaper bags should contain two to three diapers/pull ups, a change of clothes in case of an accident, and a bottle/sippy cup of their preferred drink.  Please do not leave wallet, keys or phones in the bags.  We would prefer children not bring toys from home, but if you bring them please make sure they have a name on them.

What to Tell Us

Please tell us anything that will make your child feel more comfortable.

Baby’s Schedule forms should be completed at your child’s room to ensure proper measures are taken for feedings and schedules.

Please notify caregivers when potty training. Even if your child is still wearing diapers, we’ll be glad to help them along. We’ll place a potty training sticker on his/her back along with the security sticker.

Allergies: During check-in, inform the attendant of your child’s allergies so it may be posted on his/her security sticker. Also, ask your child’s teacher for an allergy alert sticker to place on your child.

Feedings and snacks

Please make sure your child has been fed his/her spoon-fed food before arriving to church. Time and number of hands do not allow us to feed children their meals. We offer Cheerios and Goldfish to those children who are developmentally ready to chew.

Nursing and Cry Rooms: Private (mothers only) and comfortable nursing rooms are located in the nursery (C114) and near the Worship Center (A115). A family/cry room is also available (A113).

Check-in and Check-out Process

Upon arrival, visit any of our check-in desks located on the first and second floors of buildings B and C. Provide the phone number you used to register to the attendant to receive your nametags. (If you did not pre-register, the attendant will have you complete a visitor card.)

The attendant will ask you to write your cell phone number on your child’s name tag. During service, if your child needs you for any reason, we will use this number to text you.

Once you have your nametags, a friendly guide will show you where your children’s classrooms are, and help you find your way to your own Sunday Fellowship or the main service after dropping off your kids.

When you arrive to pick up your child, the teacher will ask for the pick-up receipt (second tag) you received as security before releasing your child to you. We ask that whomever picks up the child be at least 18 years old unless special permission is given to the teacher by the parent for a sibling to pick up.

If you are needed during the service, we will contact you by one or all of these following ways:

  1. Page you in the Worship Center with the last four digits of the badge number on your security sticker; the numbers will illuminate in red on displays to the left and right of the stage.
  2. Call you at the cell phone number listed on your child’s name badge (please keep your phone on silent while in the Worship Center).
  3. Find you in the Sunday Fellowship group/room number you wrote on your child’s name badge.

In an attempt to keep children healthy, our rooms and toys are thoroughly cleaned weekly.  Any toys that go into a child’s mouth are separated and not used again until they have been cleaned.  For the welfare of all children, please adhere to our sick child policies.

Find your classroom

The nursery and classrooms for preschoolers are located in building C on the northwest corner of the campus.

Babies are assigned rooms by age and are moved to new rooms throughout the year as they grow. Children (18 months and older) are assigned classrooms by date of birth and stay with their classmates until the next school year.
After checking in, take your child to the classroom printed on his or her name badge. Pick up your child in the same classroom, unless you are notified otherwise.

Health and Safety

Our policies and procedures are designed for safeguarding all children.

We do not provide any medications while children are in classrooms, except bandages. If a child needs medication, we will ask the parent to come administer it. Epi-pens and inhalers are an exception.

To minimize spreading germs, parents are requested to not bring sick children to church. Parents may be requested to pick up children from their classroom if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • nasal discharge (other than minimal, clear nasal discharge)
  • any discharge or substance around the eyes
  • fever (must be fever-free for 48 hours without fever-reducing medication)
  • unidentified rash
  • inflamed throat and/or mouth
  • excessive coughing or sneezing
  • head lice
  • open wounds without proper bandages
  • unusually lethargic or irritable behavior

Children being treated with antibiotics should be on their medication for at least 48 hours before entering one of our classrooms.

For the safety of our children, we lock the lobby doors during the worship service. You may be asked to show your pick-up tag if you need to enter the area during the time period when doors are locked.

If you do not have the pick-up tag for the child you are picking up, you will be asked to show your driver’s license to the teacher, or they may request another form of verification.

We ensure that all of our volunteers are screened with applications and background checks. This is for the safety of your children. If you desire to visit a classroom, you may be asked to complete a background check authorization, or your visit may be limited or monitored. Thank you for understanding.
