The equation for Impact is Space = Ministry

Discussing floor plans and deciding where to place elevators and exits is not the way I’d normally choose to spend a sunny afternoon. However, when I realize that decisions like that affect how people will experience the Gospel, I’m very tuned in to the discussion. That’s how I find joy in working on the design of our new building—imagining people worshipping and growing. Space = Ministry!

On April 20, the Board of Elders spent two hours dissecting the floor plans for the new worship center. We enjoyed a great sense of unity in identifying strengths and potential weaknesses of the design. We hope to have these new floor plans available on impact.stonebriar.org in the near future. The design process is right on schedule. As we get more of the design work finished, we’ll make it available on the web. Stay tuned!

Some have asked about the plans for remodeling the existing building. At this point, all of our energy and resources are focused on the new worship center and atrium. Design work on remodeling the existing building should commence in early summer. One thing is important to keep in mind: We want to build for a balanced ministry, trying to create space for ministries to all age groups.

We most likely will meet with the architects again in mid-May.
