Stonebriar’s new worship center is taking shape

by Joe E. Kunkel, project manager

Hebrews says, “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (NIV). Until recently, the Impact building project has remained mostly in the realm of faith. Throughout the fundraising campaign and the early building phases, most results have been unseen by the average church member. That’s all starting to change as many visible changes are taking place.

The steel framing (or skeleton) of the building is fabricated and is being brought to the site for assembly. Concrete wall panels have been cast on the ground and will be raised to make the walls when the concrete reaches adequate strength. Others are formed on the casting beds and are being poured as weather permits.

Most of the metal floor and roof decking is stored on site and will be installed when the deck angles are in place, so we can start to see the shape of our marvelous new sanctuary.

And soon, everyone will be able to see a preview of the final product. Drawings have been made and materials assembled to create a composite wall sample which will be erected near the new building, giving us all a clearer vision of the end result.

Of course, we still need faith. The weather has added some challenges. Please pray for the workers as they perform under extreme conditions. And please offer your words of encouragement as they endure the elements to create a seat for you and your family in our new worship center.
