Praying together for the “big picture”

- The new Sunday-morning corporate prayer time begins September 10 in the Prayer Room.
“Big-picture group prayer” is one way to describe a new, Sunday-morning ministry at Stonebriar. Beginning September 10, groups will meet in the Prayer Room to pray about broader issues affecting Stonebriar, the church universal, the state and nation, and local and global missions.
“We tend to focus on private prayer about personal concerns,” said SCC Pastor Roy Williamson, who coordinates the new ministry, “but Scripture also calls us to corporate prayer. We are to pray in groups for our leaders and for Christians around the world.”
Each Sunday, a member of the Prayer Team will lead participants through a printed list of prayer topics. The prayer format will be voluntary and conversational. Participants may pray out loud or silently, as they prefer.
Sunday corporate prayer will occur in the Prayer Room from 8–9 a.m., 9:45–10:45 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. All are invited to participate. For more information, contact Pastoral Ministries at 469-252-5218 or click here to send an e-mail.
