Serving Together

- "Be faithful in the little things" was the family mission statement Nan, Todd, Jeremiah, and Joshua Grey established during their first SCC family mission trip.
Opportunities for missions reach across our world, nation, and across state lines, as several families discovered this spring. During April, nine Stonebriar families participated in the first-ever Stonebriar family mission trip.
Families made a seven-hour drive to the grounds of Kanakuk Kamps in Missouri to prepare the site for Kids Across America—a camp devoted to reaching inner-city children and teenagers. Family teams helped prepare for upcoming summer camp activities by clearing fallen trees and brush, building an office, painting, landscaping, cleaning, and even by demolishing an unused trailer. The work was both tiring and fun. For Nan, Todd, Jeremiah, and Joshua Grey, this was an incredible family experience.
"I felt we were a small part of a big work God is doing with inner-city kids. We were glad to lighten the load of physical labor for the camp counselors so they will have more energy for the kids this summer. I know there was more to do, but there is always next year! We would love to go back. The trip was hard work, but well worth it," shared Nan Grey.
The spring family trip in many ways was a "kick off" to the mission trip season. Upcoming summer mission trips include Guatemala and Memphis in June, and China and Honduras in July. For more information about Stonebriar short-term missions opportunities, please see the missions webpage.
