Building Construction
Stonebriar's Children's Building
With construction now complete on SCC's new 60,000-square-foot children's building, only a few finishing touches remain as we prepare for the building's "Grand Opening" on January 3, 2010.
SCC's new Children's building will house ministries and programs for children newborn through preschool. Preschool Pals, a weekday program for children ranging in age from 18 months through four years, will utilize the second floor for weekday programming. The first floor will include 14 nursery rooms and several areas for young ages—in all, 25 early childhood classrooms will be used by the church on a weekly basis. In addition, a suite designed for special needs children and families will be part of the first floor building design.
At the beginning of January, all preschool aged-children will transition to new classrooms in the Children's Building and older children will transition downstairs to new rooms in the current Education Building. In mid-January, several adult fellowship classes will transition from Portables to the second floor of the Education Building, and Hispanic Ministries will move to the Multi-Purpose Room.
As we prepare to move-in at the end of December, we need your continued support. While the cost of construction is covered, we do still additional expenses related to readying the new classrooms for use. Find information about making an online contributions here, send a by check with the memo “Children’s Building,” or by contacting Kenna at 469-252-5331 for details.
In addition, volunteers are needed to help move furniture and supplies from existing classrooms and offices now located in the Education Building. If you are interested in serving in this way, contact Teresa at 469-252-5351 or e-mail servingstonebriarorg.
