Soul Care Training
"People who want to help...connecting with People who need help!"
2 Corinthians 1:3-7
While redemption and restoration can only be accomplished through the atoning work of Christ, the work of caring for souls in our communities is accomplished through the Holy Spirit's gifting and directing believers in relationships with one another. Stonebriar Community Church's SoulCare Ministry mission is simple; it is a ministry that prayerfully connects "people who want to help...with people who need help." The methods we use to "care" are varied. They range from helping to meet physical and financial needs to being "present" with others in walking alongside them as they wrestle with their emotional and spiritual needs. Our SoulCare ministers believe that the Holy Spirit is the author of all change, growth, and the primary instument of healing in all souls. We, as SoulCare ministers, are so privileged to join His work already in progress. SoulCare ministers also believe that our greatest resource of "care" is faithful, fervent, and frequent prayer.
To fulfill the SoulCare Ministry mission, we have developed a seven-week curriculum designed to equip SoulCare ministers with the theological truths and grace necessary for biblically-based care. In addition, we equip the ministers with practical information regarding community-based resources and resources within the church that will assist them in their care for others. The equipping we provide is the beginning of the journey for each of our SoulCare ministers. It prepares them to become a member of a SoulCare team within the church and to reflect the light of Christ in the communities in which they are already involved.
The next SoulCare Ministry training dates will be on Sundays, Sept. 30 through Nov. 11, 2012.
