God’s Work in Chattisgarh
The work in Chattisgarh, India, focuses on the following areas:
Training Pastors and Missionaries
The Mission India Discipleship Center (MIDC) is providing one-year theological diplomas to men and women who then take the good news of Jesus Christ to the cities and remote villages Chhattisgarh.
Planting Churches
From 2002 to 2007, more than 875 home churches and cell groups were planted. Mission: India-trained pastors and missionaries are working hard, praying fervently, and serving faithfully despite opposition from non-Christians.
Mercy Homes for Orphans
From 2002 to 2007, Mission: India established eight Mercy Homes that minister to more than 120 abandoned or homeless Indian children. Run by graduates of the Mission India Discipleship Center, the homes provide children with a loving, safe, and Christ-centered environment. Mercy Home children are often top students in their schools; as future leaders they can become a strong Christian influence in India.
Tailoring School for Women
Single and widowed women attend classes to learn the sewing trade. Hundreds of at-risk women have already graduated from the program and are generating income from their new sewing skills. The tailoring school instructors are women who have graduated from MIDC. They pray for the women and share the truth of Jesus Christ with them.
Medical Clinics
Launched in 2004, Mission: India medical clinics have treated thousands of Indians. Along with reaching out to the community, medical care is provided for MIDC students, Mercy Home children, missionaries and their families, and Mission: India staff.
Insight for Living Broadcasts
Insight for Living, the Bible-teaching radio ministry of Chuck Swindoll, is available in North India through Trans World Radio (TWR). The program, named Jeevan Ki Khoi, broadcasts on 49 meter band or 5950 kHz short wave at 7:15 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays each week.
