Disaster Relief for Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast on August 25 with wind speeds above 130 miles per hour. For days, the storm lingered and poured record rainfall on Houston and the surrounding area. Dozens of lives have been lost in what FEMA has called “the worst disaster in Texas history.” Help us extend the love of Christ to our neighbors in the midst of this suffering.

We believe that prayer is our first and best response in times of distress. Please join us in prayer for those in Houston and affected areas of the southeastern coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

Our Disaster Relief Fund is currently the best way our church can demonstrably respond and provide for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. We are also partnering with Camp Craig Allen in our Hope for Harvey drive to collect medical supplies for people with special needs.

Now is the time for us to roll up our sleeves and let our light shine as the body of Christ. We want to love our South Texas neighbors in the weeks and months to come as they clean up and rebuild in the wake of this devastating disaster. We invite you to join one of our work teams or serve with one of our partner organizations.

Stories from the Storm

Stories of both devastation and hope continue to pour from areas affected by Hurricane Harvey. One story especially dear to our church family is that of former Stonebriar staff member Pablo Monroy. In his 6 plus years at Stonebriar, Pablo served as associate pastor of Stonebriar en Español and Missional Living. Now a pastor with Second Baptist Church in Houston, Pablo and his family have lost everything to Hurricane Harvey. Even in the midst of crisis, Pablo has seized the opportunity to show the love of Christ to his community.

Thank you for loving, caring, and praying for our neighbors. Please check back regularly for updates.
