Our Mission
For most people, high school brings back either good memories or bad memories. Those memories are forged from experiences that center on relationships. Though the culture seems to have shifted from absolutes to relativism, one thing that has not changed is that high school students need the consistency of committed relationships.
The mission of SCC’s High School Ministry parallels the church’s: To encourage our students to enjoy a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ. We are serious about serving junior high students, providing them with experiences, teaching, and relationships that encourage a life of love, obedience, and service to our Savior.
Our mission is pursued through a variety of programs and events that seek to fulfill four core mission targets:
1. Worship/Prayer—to engage in corporate worship and prayer.
2. Word of God—to provide in-depth and developmentally appropriate biblical instruction.
3. Community/Fellowship—to create an atmosphere that fosters significant friendships and relationships.
4. Service—to serve others inside and outside our church in service to our King.
We are committed to providing a foundational experience that we pray the Holy Spirit will use in the lives of our high school students to grow them into mature Christian adults living in obedience and service to Jesus Christ.
Core Values
- Truthful, expository teaching designed to communicate God's will and purpose in the life of every student.
- Strong one-on-one relationships between staff to students and students to students that foster accountability and vulnerability.
- Opportunities for ministry that challenge students' faith to become alive and active.
- Commitment to modeling genuine worship in song and lifestyle.
