Summer Series

Men of Stonebriar Summer of Service

Men, this summer we will offer a different experience. Rather than a summer Bible study, we have arranged several service projects in partnership with our Missional Living ministry. We have three Saturday opportunities to serve together in meaningful work that will promote fellowship and connecting with others outside of the classroom, for the benefit of both those serving and those who will be helped.

Here are some details about our Men of Stonebriar Summer of Service projects:

Meet at Stonebriar by 8:30 a.m. At that time, we will provide a brief description of the four projects and what is involved (see below). Then we will break into different groups/locations, based on which project you select at that time, and we will caravan/carpool together from Stonebriar.

We should be back in Frisco by about 2 p.m.

Dress code is casual and comfy (jeans and a t-shirt). Wear comfy/tennis shoes.

Currently the four ministry projects we will dive into this summer include:

  1. Cornerstone Church clothing and shower complex ministry to the homeless: for this, we will serve the homeless of South Dallas as they come to get a change of clothes and have the opportunity to take a shower. No physical exertion required. (Your boys must be at least 16 years of age to participate with you in this project.)

  2. Samaritan Inn project: with this homeless shelter ministry partner, we will prep for their new family building which may include things like assembling furniture. This is the only opportunity that may involve heavy lifting, but it will be at a minimum.

  3. C-Kids: for this project, we will help Cornerstone Church morning Bible club for inner city kids in South Dallas. (Your boys must be at least 11 years of age to participate with you in this project.)

  4. Viola's House project: if we have enough men, and you enjoy handyman projects, we will take a team over to Viola's House, a home that Cornerstone Church is opening to minister to teen moms.

Men, you will have the opportunity on the day we meet to decide which of these projects you'd like to join. I encourage you to start praying about it today!

Space is limited so please register today. You may sign up for one, two, or all three Saturdays (June 17, July 15, and August 19). Remember, there is no cost to register.

Dates: Saturday mornings, June 17, July 15, and August 19, 2017

Location and Time: Meet at Stonebriar, building B lobby at 8:30 a.m. We will return to Stonebriar by 2 p.m.

Cost: $0. There is no cost involved. Only a simple registration is required. Boys may participate with a parent or guardian. Minimum age 11+. Childcare is not available.

*** A background check is required for adults serving. Click here to grant us permission.

Guys, I am excited to partner with you on these three Saturdays, investing together our time and maybe some sweat equity together, all for God's glory!

See you there!

Les
