What We Value
What's Important to You Is Important to Us
Your family's relationship with God is of vital importance to you, and it is to us too. That priority is reflected in the vision, mission, and values that guide what we do.
Children's Ministries Vision
Our vision is to glorify God by encouraging children to begin a lifelong, joyous relationship with Jesus Christ.
Motto
Know Him, Love Him, Serve Him
Mission
Our mission is to partner with families—as a nurturing, biblical community—to provide child-relevant and age-appropriate opportunities for evangelizing, discipling, and equipping children to enjoy God for their entire lives.
More specifically, we will seek to reach children as follows:
Know Him—Evangelizing the Community: Impact children and their families with God’s unconditional love, and provide opportunities for children to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. (John 1:12)
Love Him—Discipling the Committed: Cultivate a passion for Scripture so children will seek to understand its principles and apply its truth to all their relationships in Christ-like obedience. (Romans 12:1 & 2) (2 Tim 3:16-17)
Serve Him—Equipping the Core: Equip children to share their faith, to serve others, and to discover God’s plan for their lives. (Mat 28:19 & 20, 1 Tim 4:12)
Ministry Values
The Stonebriar Children’s Ministries team will be characterized as:
Ministry Partner-driven: Following the model in Ephesians 4:11ff, the Children’s Ministries staff will work to equip those individuals whom God has gifted for ministry to children. We will seek to discover, train, and encourage ministry partners to be Christian role models and exercise their spiritual gifts in fruitful service to children and families.
Relational: Since growth most effectively occurs in the context of nurturing relationships in a biblical community, we will create intentional shepherding opportunities for Christian role models. Character, integrity, and grace will be primary in our relationships with staff, ministry partners, and families.
Child-centered: All programs, instruction, and activities will be developed to meet the spiritual needs of children. We’ll present truth with excellence, creativity, variety, and fun; allowing children to experience God in a personal manner appropriate for their age.
Safe/Secure/Accountable: Procedures to guard the health, welfare, and spiritual development of each child will take precedence over all other considerations or conveniences. Accountability to God and our mission will be expected of all personnel and programs.
Family-oriented: Children will be served in the context of family relationships. To minister most effectively to children requires a broader ministry in partnership with and to their family.
