Membership

Your membership means more than simply signing a piece of paper. Becoming a member of Stonebriar expresses your commitment to this “spiritual family,” a family that worships together, grows in faith together, and serves one another.
We are committed to connecting with you and desire to help you solidify your faith and find your place at Stonebriar. The membership classes are open to anyone who is a follower of Christ and is at least 18 years old.
In the Membership Class, we provide a review of Stonebriar's history, an overview of our ministry values and Statement of Faith, and present opportunities for connecting to small groups and areas of service. If you're interested in membership, please choose the three-week class you wish to attend.
To register for the class, fill out a Membership Class Registration form.
Download the form or pick up a copy at the Information Center in the Atrium. Turn in the completed copy at the church office Monday through Friday or on Sunday morning.
Schedule of Classes
Three three-week membership classes will be held in Spring 2012. Attendance at all three sessions is required.
Class 1: January 8, 15, 22 — Registration Deadline: January 3
Class 2: February 5, 12, 19 — Registration Deadline: January 30
Class 3: May 6, 13, 20 — Registration Deadline: April 30
All classes meet from 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Meaning of Membership
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." ~Romans 12:4-5
Church membership is not a means of salvation; becoming a member of Stonebriar or any other church does not assure anyone of eternal life in heaven. Church membership is also not a requirement for worshipping or serving at Stonebriar, and it is not a command found in the Bible. The Bible does tell believers, however, to meet regularly with a group of Christians who love, serve, and encourage one another (see Ephesians 4:16, I Timothy 3:15, and Romans 12:4-5).
Some churches link church membership and baptism, but that is not the case at Stonebriar. If you'd like to learn more about baptism, we offer quarterly baptism classes for all ages.
Still Have Questions?
