VBS B.O.O.T. Camp Day 5

Officially prepared and commissioned to serve, Stonebriar's fresh recruits in the Lord's army are now mobilizing throughout Frisco. Today (Friday, June 19), was the final day of Stonebriar's 2009 Vacation Bible School.
As the day ended, "troops" were encouraged to be fishers of men, and to use their new knowledge to share God's love with their friends and family.
Each day this week, more than 1,250 kids learned about the love and protection of our Heavenly Father. Children were encouraged to trust in Jesus, and to follow the Bible's commands. When asked why soliders in God's army need the Bible, second grader Camille shared, "When we read it we find out about cool decisions and cool things that God and Jesus did...very cool things."
While the week is officially over, the laughter of children still rings throughout the halls of our building. Thank you to everyone who participated in VBS, and to the many volunteers who helped make VBS possible.

VBS B.O.O.T. Camp Day 4
Ephesians 6:11 tells us to, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Today, VBS troops, including these first-grade reporters, learned exactly what this means.
“Putting on the armor of God helps you fight and protects you too,” shared Blake shared.
“The armor of God protects you but the armor of the world doesn’t,” shared Matthew.
“Having the armor of God is good, ‘cause it means Jesus is always with us,” said Dominque.
“The armor includes the Bible too,” added Jacob.
It is exciting to know that in the midst of arts and crafts, recreation, snacks, and a full day of lessons, these VBS troops are being reminded again and again that they are loved and protected by their Heavenly Father.

VBS B.O.O.T. Camp Day 3
Day three kicked off with great singing and "hilarious skits" according to fourth-grader Jared. As the music sounded out, it was clear today that nearly all the kids knew the songs and were ready for another exciting day of B.O.O.T. Camp.
Throughout the day, kids were reminded once again that they are loved. Whether in arts and crafts, during the lesson, or in large group, the message that "Jesus died on the cross for you and me" was clear.
Lanie, a fourth-grade VBS participant, helped explain this a little more, "To me that means He is not just going to get mad at us because we did something on accident or on purpose. Jesus forgives us for our sins."
After quoting John 3:16, fellow fourth-grader Kaitlin cheered, "God loves us sooooo much!"

VBS B.O.O.T. Camp Day 2
"I learned that God will never stop loving you, and He can be anywhere," shared Faith, one of Tuesday's VBS participants. This upcoming second grader couldn't stop sharing all the wonderful things she learned, and it wasn't long before her friend, McKynna chimmed in with her favorite part of the day—arts and crafts. On Tuesday, their class made "crosses that represent when Jesus died on the cross," McKynna said with a big smile.
The gospel sounded out loud and clear today as children learned about "Our Commander-in-Chief." Going along with this message, first grader Matthew Russell said he learned "all the things a solider needs to be in God's army."
All week the message continues as kids are encouraged to trust in Christ.
V.B.S. B.O.O.T. Camp Day 1

Stonebriar's VBS B.O.O.T. Camp kicked off today (June 15). By 9 a.m., 1,255 "new recruits" had filed into the Multi-Purpose Room ready for training.
The day started with songs, skits, cheers, and drills created for kindergarten to fourth graders. The kids were "called to action" as they headed out to explore the rest of the morning's lessons and activities.
This year's VBS theme is about "Spiritual Warfare." On Monday, class teachers introduced what it means to fight at God's side. Children heard the story of Adam and Eve, and discovered how to be soliders for Christ. Activities, crafts, and songs centered around serving God at ALL times.
Here are a few "first-hand reports" from kids who participated in today's Vacation Bible School.
"It's fun to talk about God," — Christiana, 2nd grade
"It's fun learning about the Bible" — Grant, 2nd grade
"My favorite part was coming here!!!!" — Abby, 1st grade
Each day we will post stories, quotes, and photos from the day.
