Stonebriar Library Grand Opening

This fall come see what the Stonebriar Church Library has to offer you, explore the online catalog, and check out a book, CD or DVD. Our grand opening will be September 19. Beginning this day and going forward you will be able to check out a wide variety of resources. The opening collection will include more than 2,500 items, representing a variety of literature and media. You will find popular fiction by authors such as Karen Kingsbury, Ted Dekker, Francine Rivers, and Joel Rosenberg. Many other Christian authors include C. S. Lewis, Max Lucado, Charles Stanley, Anne Graham Lotz, A. W. Tozer, Beth Moore, Steve Farrar, the Women of Faith ladies, and of course, Chuck Swindoll. For the younger generation you will see children's books, all the way from board books to series for young adults, age-appropriate CDs and DVDs, and homeschooling materials. Bible study tools, including dictionaries, commentaries, a variety of Bible translations, and systematic theologies, will be available. The library will eventaully include Spanish materials.
To check out books, there is no need to sign up for a library card; your SCC barcode key tag can be scanned for easy check out. If you don't have an SCC tag, forms to obtain one will be available at the library. You will be able to use the library's computer to look up items by title, author, or keywords. The library will be open during specific hours (TBD) on Sundays and Wednesdays.
What you see on opening day will be only a portion of the materials donated. Processing time for each item on the shelf requires an average of 30 minutes, and behind-the-scenes work by numerous volunteers goes on almost daily in the library to get the items on the shelves. To keep our library growing, donated items are always welcome, along with monetary gifts, which can be designated in honor or memory of individuals. Find more information about the library on the SCC library webpage.
