Membership
Your membership means more than simply signing a piece of paper. Becoming a member of Stonebriar expresses your commitment to this “spiritual family,” a family that worships together, grows in faith together, and serves one another.
We are committed to connecting with you and desire to help you solidify your faith and find your place at Stonebriar. The membership classes are open to anyone who is a follower of Christ and is at least 18 years old.
In the Membership Class, we provide a review of Stonebriar's history and an overview of our ministry values and Statement of Faith. If you're interested in membership, please choose the four-week class you wish to attend.
To register for the class, fill out a Connecting With Stonebriar form. Copies of the form are available at the Information Center in the church foyer. Turn in your completed copy at the church office on Monday through Friday or Sunday morning.
Schedule of Classes
The next Membership Class will be held in Fall 2008. The dates have not been determined, so please check back.
The Meaning of Membership
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." ~Romans 12:4-5
Church membership is not a means of salvation; becoming a member of Stonebriar or any other church does not assure anyone of eternal life in heaven. Church membership also is not a requirement for worshipping or serving at Stonebriar, and it is not a command found in the Bible. The Bible does tell believers, however, to meet regularly with a group of Christians who love, serve, and encourage one another (see Ephesians 4:16, I Timothy 3:15, and Romans 12:4-5).
Some churches link church membership and baptism, but that is not the case at Stonebriar. If you'd like to learn more about baptism, we offer quarterly baptism classes for all ages.
Still Have Questions?
We want to make this easy yet keep it meaningful. If the process described above leaves you with questions, call us at the church at 469-252-5200, or contact us online.
